Taylor Morrison, one of Houston's most active homebuilders, broke ground on Grand Vista on a 600-acre stretch between Sugar Land and Katy, about 30 minutes from downtown Houston. The plan set aside 150 acres — roughly a quarter of the entire property — for parks, trails, and open space instead of more rooftops.
Homes went up in collections named for their lot width, each with its own floor plans and price point, so first-time buyers and growing families could find a fit on the same streets. Two community clubhouses and pools, plus playgrounds throughout, gave every section of the neighborhood a place to gather.
Grand Vista reached full build-out when its final collection, the 60s, sold its last home on May 2, 2023 — closing out a development that by then had grown past 1,600 homes. Governance has since passed from the builder to a property-owner-elected board through the Grand Vista Community Association, a transition many master-planned communities take years to reach.
Every Grand Vista address sits inside Fort Bend ISD, feeding James Patterson Elementary, David Crockett Middle School, and George Bush High School. Sitting next to the Grand Parkway and Westpark Tollway puts Sugar Land, Katy, and downtown Houston all a short drive away.
Taylor Morrison sold Grand Vista in collections named for their lot width — each a different slice of the neighborhood's character.
